Beach Portraits in Dewey That Feel Like Vacation
Dewey Beach has a fun, relaxed feel that makes it such a great place for family photos. With the ocean on one side and the bay on the other, it has a little more energy than some of the quieter beach towns, but it still feels easy and laid back. That mix is part of what makes sessions here feel so natural.
I love photographing families in Dewey because there is plenty of room to move, play, and let kids be themselves. The beach gives us a beautiful, simple backdrop, and the light later in the day is especially nice for portraits. It is soft, warm, and flattering without feeling overly formal.
My approach is always pretty relaxed. We might start by walking along the shoreline, spending some time near the water, and letting the kids settle in as we go. I am not looking to over-direct every moment. The goal is to create space for real interaction so your photos feel genuine and connected.
